Rathdowney is a small country town nestled in the beautiful foothills of the McPherson Ranges. It is 30km south of Beaudesert on the Mt Lindesay Highway and is the gateway to some of the most beautiful National Parks in SE Qld: Mt Barney National Park and the Border Ranges National Park. Our Memorial Grounds host a variety of activities, catering for the various local clubs:- Rathdowney Soccer Club, Rathdowney Trail Riding Club, Axeman & Sawyers Club, to name a few. We host our annual Rathdowney Rodeo, Rathdowney Campdraft and the well known Heritage Festival along with the yearly ANZAC day parade proudly held by the local RSL. Many Caravan Clubs frequent our grounds, many return year after year to enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the area. There are many activities to occupy yourself, from fishing at Maroon Dam, visiting the many wonderful tourist parks, visiting our local historical museum, enoying a cold beer and counter meal at the local Rathy Hotel and a game of bowls at our local popular Bowls Club. Rathdowney is just to beautiful not too come and visit.
